Created by Jan Martin Scharf and Arne Nolting, Barbarians, a six-episode German series set two millennia ago, will be available to stream on Netflix on October 23. Told from the Germanic perspective, the show’s producers and staff worked closely with historians to get as many details right that they could.

During the battle of the Teutoburg forest in 9 AD the fates of three lives are connected to each other when the Germanic tribes attempted to halt the spread of the Roman Empire.
